We know that bucket bags have been all the rage right now, and Céline has introduced one of its very own versions of the bucket, for Fall/Winter 18. Called the Clasp Bucket, what the bag is essentially is, is what I would term as a “half-bucket” . Why do I say this? Well, despite it looking every bit the bucket with its circular base and rounded front, the bag’s back is actually concave.
Now that we have got the “bucket” bit sorted out, it comes with a metallic clasp closure system, located on the back of the back. See those gold hinges there on both sides? Yep, that’s it. Made of smooth calfskin, and lined in contrast-coloured lambskin, this bucket comes with an adjustable long shoulder strap, so that you can carry the bucket either on the shoulder, or crossbody style.
I have to say though, that although I’ve grown to like bucket bags, I prefer those that come with a drawstring closure. This Clasp Bucket, on the other hand, is slightly too heavy for my liking. But, the thing that deters me most, would have to be the fact that it looks waaaaayy too much like a collapsed bucket, especially with bit across the bag at its opening, that sticks out a little bit more than the entire bag which really makes it seem very uhm, bucket-like, or even flowerpot-esque, no? Or maybe it’s just me…
