Prada’s Made-to-Order Décolleté Shoes Comes to KL

Prada's made-to-order shoe service is back in KL! Choose from a total of 18 models, in open toe, and décolleté styles. Available with or without plateau soles, they come in 7 different heel heights, so whether you like them with a chunky block heel, or a sleeker and more elegant stiletto, there's something for everyone. With 92 different colour options ranging from classic hues, jewel tones, and even fun prints with the lips, lily of the valley, and molecular motifs on saffiano leather.

The décolleté with the bow detail (shown below) is also available either in tone-on-tone or contrasting colour combinations of your choice.

Each shoe is fully customisable, right down to the colours of the sole either in black, lily of the valley (blush pink) or light blue, or black and lily of the valley on saffiano prints, with the option of including your  initials at the bottom of each sole either in amber or steel-coloured metal.

As you might've noticed, if you pick either solid colours (whether duchesse satin, calfskin, or patent leather) or exotic leathers (python, ayers, crocodile, leopard print pony), they come in Prada's signature black box and packaging, the lips version comes with a matching box, and the molecular and lily of the valley ones are packaged in the lily of the valley-printed box.

The shoes will be ready in approximately 90 days from the date of order. Leather and fabric versions range from RM 3,360 to 4,000, and RM5,460 to 11,440 for exotic skins.

Pre-Order will be available beginning next week for a week at a time at each of the Prada boutiques in Malaysia. The dates are as follows:

Prada Pavilion - 12th to 15th September

Prada KLCC - 18th to 21st September

Prada Gardens - 23rd to 25th September

As for me, my favourites are the duchesse satin in jewel tones, and the lily of the valley printed ones! What about you?

Event Post: Melissa x Jeremy Scott FW16 Launch Party

Melissa shoes has been collaborating with designers like Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexandre Herchcovitch, and many others for many years now. Streetstyle extrodinaire Jeremy Scott (the Creative genius behind Moschino's super fun and quirky designs), is the brand's latest designer collaboration addition for Fall/Winter 16.

On Monday evening this week, I had the privilege of attending the launch party held at Zouk on Monday - and rightly so, because "Dance Machine" is theme of the FW16 collection. And yes, given that it's a club, it's probably the only time you'd probably see me at a club because partying isn't really my kind of scene. But off I went because, well, #forthesakeoffashion :P Lol. Also, I had been bogged down with PhD deadlines and research and have skipped out on way too many events since October last year, so this is actually my first event I attended this year! *cue gasps*

Upon entry into the event space, the Jeremy Scott shoes were on display against a vibrant backdrop of fuchsia and lemon yellow, with "Pop" designed in such a way that is reminiscent of that found in comic books. and on the right, was the photo wall, with an inflatable sofa, ring floats, and a beach ball  to be used as props for our photos, and short Boomerang app-like videos which we got emailed to us. (These props had significance too, because not were they in popping colours like Scott's designs, but also because the distinctive feature of his FW16 shoes for Melissa are the rubberised plastic valves into which we usually blow into to inflate our beach items!) On top of that, we could also print a copy of one of the still shots of the video. A tad disappointing though, when we were told by the guy manning the photo printout booth that we could only print one copy, because it meant that although we did a group shot, only one person got to keep the photo as a memento.

Jeremy Scott Baby Melissa shoes

My Absolute FAVES from the collection!!

To the left of the Jeremy Scott display, were the other shoes from Melissa's Fall/Winter 16 collection, including Baby Melissa for children which were just too cute for words. In fact, I wished that they made some of those in bigger sizes because I certainly would've worn them! Also on display was Melissa's latest X-BootMelissa Just Dance, and Melissa Grunge.

The New X-Boot

At 7:30pm or so, we were ushered into the runway area, got a chance to print our photos, and grabbed a seat and snack on some canapés and thirst quenchers, or beer while waiting for the fashion show to begin. Models were also showcasing the FW16 collection on their feet while standing or sitting on the inflatable chairs set up individually on the 4 separate podiums that flanked the runway, with a model on each.

The emcee welcomed us, and shortly after, the fashion show began, first with the FW16 collection, and then Jeremy Scott's. The models, dressed in Kittie Yiyi's designs,  all bounced onto the runway with loads of energy, cutesy, and even danced along to the music.

Once the fashion show ended, we were asked to grab and pop balloons that were released for a chance to win Melissa vouchers - RM50, RM100 and RM200 vouchers were up for grabs, and just ONE balloon containing a voucher for a complimentary pair of Melissa shoes. I got a RM50 voucher, and so did a friend of mine, while another friend who came with me to the event, got herself an RM100 voucher.

Before I sign off, here's a quick snapshot of what I wore to the event. For the first time ever (I'm usually more dressy lol), I opted for a more street style kinda vibe because hey, it's Jeremy Scott, innit? ;D Also, the comic book Pop Art-esque clutch (the face actually made up of dots though you may not actually be able to see it) because "Pop" was written on the invitation in the same style that you see in the first photo above, and also since it's a club, I didn't want to bring any of my designer bags with me because I don't like the idea of having smoke and stale smoke infused into my bag, so consider it "killing two birds with one stone" =P

Hi-Lo Printed Dress: Adidas Originals
Sparkly Kicks (not very visible in this lighting): Zara (Similar Here)
Clutch: New Look from ASOS (Similar Here and  Here)
Cuff: Balenciaga (Colour: Bleu Roi)
Oh and please don't mind my muscular calves, heh.

Thanks so much to the Melissa Malaysia team for having me at the event, and for successfully getting me to go to a club! LOL
