Us is the second movie from the acclaimed director Jordan Peele! His first one, Get Out, was a commercial and artistic success!

So his second has a lot to live up to!

  2. It is written and directed by Jordan Peele
  3. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker
  4. And follows a family who are confronted by a group of doppelgängers
  5. The project was first announced in February 2018
  6. And much of the cast joined that summer
  7. Peele produced the film alongside Jason Blum and Sean McKittrick
  8. With the trio previously having collaborated on Get Out and BlacKkKlansman
  9. As well as Ian Cooper
  10. Filming took place from July to October 2018 in California
  11. Us had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 8, 2019
  12. It was theatrically released in the United States on March 22, 2019

  31. A second trailer was released on February 3, 2019 for Super Bowl LIII

  34. The film was originally scheduled for theatrical release in the United States on March 15, 2019
  35. But was pushed back a week to March 22, 2019
  36. Following the announcement of its South by Southwest premiere
  37. In the United States and Canada, initial tracking had Us grossing $35-40 million in its opening weekend
  38. By the week of its release, the estimates had risen to $45- 50 million
  39. With advance ticket sales on Fandango outpacing A Quiet Place and Get Out
  40. The film made $7.4 million from Thursday night previews
  41. One of the best-ever for a horror film
  42. And far higher than the $1.8 million made by Get Out
  43. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 95% based on 220 reviews
  44. With an average rating of 8.04/10
  45. On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 81 out of 100, based on 52 critics, indicating “universal acclaim”
